One should expect it to take from 1 hour to 24 hours to get financing approvals. If you have good credit today, you may get interest rates as low at 5%. But, if you credit is not perfect, don't worry, as in many cases, they can still get you financed. And believe me, there are many people with bad credit. So, they are used to dealing with people with all types of credit. The rates one will pay can be as much as 23% or higher (varies by state) if the credit does not meet gold standards. Also, even with a credit score of 580 or higher, in many cases you can still get financed. With a credit score on the lower end of approvals, one should expect to pay a larger down payment or larger equity trade-in with a good debt to credit ratio.
